The Brown Hotel in Louisville is celebrating Mardi Gras with something hot this summer...Hot chocolate. Well hot chocolate can be taken throughout the year and I think the consumption in the second annual Hot Chocolate Event might have perked up as the proceed will go to benefit The Home of the Innocents.

The event featured gourmet hot chocolate presented by Chefs Joe Castro and Brian Logsdon. The gourmet chocolate drinks included Mexican hot chocolate and the White House’s version of hot cocoa, sold for $4. This event also had a hot chocolate follow-up with a cocktail called as the Sazerac. Sazerc is a cocktail consisting of whiskey, sugar syrup and a dash each of bitters and pernod. Sazerac was marked at $10 and it also made a part of the proceeds that was supposed to go for the purpose of charity.

Culinary possibilities to attract mankind is countless, but when it lures for the benefit of mankind it becomes as functional as the hot chocolate.
