The attitude of burger lovers at the outset of ever-expanding salad options in fast food chains in the UK is shocking and it can give some food for thought to the nutritional advocates. McDonalds has reportedly lost its customers at the introduction of a wide variety of salads and facts provided by Scotsman claims that 25 branches of McDonalds were shut down at the sudden expansion of salad menu.

Doubtless of the fact that McDonalds has done that under pressure from the nutritional advocates and consumers should be happy that it has come at par with Subway to serve both deli and salads. McDonalds might have lost customers at the outset of ripping-off certain burgers from off the menu. As McDonalds has not reported to do it, nutritional advocates might have got a hang of the fact that fast food restaurants have built their identity around flavorful and calorific burgers.

It is a pitiable fact that consumers are not ready to eat readymade salads, yet it is what they are used to and it will be difficult for them to accept that salads can be fast and convenient foods. Until and unless consumers understand that burgers are one time indulgences or McDonalds chokes its salads into flavorful burgers, it would be difficult to satisfy consumers or allow McDonalds to concentrate on calorific burgers.
