Study conducted by researchers in Vanderbilt University revealed in the American Journal of Medicine that consumption of fruit juices thrice a week would reduce the risks of Alzheimer. Facts provide that the oxidative damage of beta amyloid in Alzheimer is reduced by free radicals. Facts provided in the report claims that fruits like pomegranate, blueberries, oranges, lemon are rich in polyphenols and hence neutralize the effect of beta- amyloids.
Previous research on omega3 fatty acids and regular researches on specific foods for Alzheimer patients is convincing the latter about a proper diet. Though the survey is based on observations over a long period, yet it is restrictive in nature.
Apart from fruits and vegetables, there are many foodstuffs like red soybeans, nuts, spices, herbs, cider, vegetables and fishes that are rich in anti-oxidants. Therefore, a complete set of compounds and their presence in foodstuffs has to be included while suggesting a diet-plan for those suffering from Alzheimer.
