After a week’s recovery from Asthma, the Foodmall Gal is back with its recipes . Well, I am not going to fret you with the food I ate at the hospital, but will delight you with new summer flavors I had at home.



I had to eat light rice and lentils pottage, but with amazing flavors.



Ingredients

Rice (rinsed)

Yellow Lentils (rinsed)

Tomatoes

Grated Ginger

Bay Leaves

Whole Cloves

Chopped Onion

Steamed Cabbage

Small Potatoes (Boiled and Peeled)

Clear Chicken Stock

Dried Oregano

White Pepper

Rock salt

Oil



Method



1. In a wok, heat oil add cloves and bay leaves. Let it splutter.



2. Fry chopped onions, ginger and vegetables (cauliflower and potatoes)until brown.



3. Add rice, lentils, seasonings and chopped tomatoes. Cook for ten minutes and then add the chicken stock instead of water for added flavor.



4. Cook until rice and lentils are done. Accompany it with mint and yogurt paste.
