A recent report shows that Brooke Bond has made its latest venture in the healthy beverage category by launching ‘Brooke Bond 3 Roses Natural Care‘ tea in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. This tea is definitely healthy with an addition of Indian Ginseng or Withania, Glycyrrhiza glabra, ginger, cardamom and basil to the already existing ‘3 Roses Tea’. This tea will be available in 250 gm for Rs 57 and a 100 gm pack for Rs 25. Withania is known to be an anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory agent; Glycyrrhiza glabra is a tonic and is used for curing liver bladder and lungs; cardamom is used as a digestive, ginger and basil for common cold and flu. These herbs provide a total health package to the average tea-drinker in India. As per Anand Ramachandran, Marketing Manager, Brooke Bond:
The product seeks to create a new segment within the beverages market, targeted at families seeking well being in their daily lives.
But the purpose of moving into the healthy-beverage market obviously has to be for strengthening the position in the highly competitive beverage market. As per Ramachandran:
The tea market was cluttered and there were over 1,000 varieties. The other beverages fighting for the “share of throat” are carbonated soft drinks, coffee, fruit juices, water, milk and malted drinks.Brooke Bond is a member of the Hindustan Lever Ltd. and is moving ahead in the tea market with Brook Bond 3 Roses and this might be the reason to revive the product with healthy herbs to reap more from the current market trend of healthy-drinking.
